Photographs are a record of events that pass by you in life and your only treasured memories of yesteryear.
The photograph top right was taken in the 1930's..... on the left is my Grandfather...I never knew him......my mother had this on 2 x 1.5 halide plate (top photograph) and the restored version is on the right ...it has been left with a few distinguishing marks to authenticate its age, the faces are now recognisable and the image has had many blemishes removed.

Taken in America in the 1920's...... this photograph presented us with torn edges and creases, it is also a little faded and lacking contrast.

usually applies when the photograph appears to be beyond recognition with torn and scratched features coupled with fading..... sometimes the 'fix' used in the chemical printing process of earlier photography bleeds or stains the picture

LEVEL 2 from £21 as above + repairs to frayed edges; creases removed; blemishes to

heavy staining; merge two or more pictures; change background

the left print is heavily stained and shows signs of chemical run (fixer used in developing) which occurs with age...also colour cast over the whole photograph....magniified it had numerous blemishes and blotchiness

the restored print has the colour cast removed, all the blemishes eliminated and the overall print looks more natural.....staining was removed and the lace curtain repaired so there isn't any gaps at the top
it took a few hours to restore
